From education in Bangladesh to study and work in Australia, and a career in HR leadership in Dhaka—these are the milestones in my journey so far.
My education in Bangladesh included Business Studies at Holy Cross Girls' High School, where I completed my Secondary School Certificate in 2006. I continued at Dhaka City College from 2006 to 2008, completing my Higher Secondary School Certificate in Business Studies.
At East West University, I studied for a BBA in Finance & HRM. From May to August 2013, I also worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, supporting academic administration, student enquiries and review sessions. An internship at Standard Chartered Bank in Dhaka followed from September to November 2013, where I analysed and reported on SME banking products.
I pursued a Master of Professional Accounting at the University of Technology Sydney. This chapter extended my business education into accounting and became part of a wider journey of study and professional experience in Australia.
I worked as a Financial Assistant at Mercure Sydney International Airport from July to October 2017, managing accounts receivable, invoice processing, reconciliation and credit control. From November 2017 to July 2018, I was a Finance Assistant and Night Audit at Mercure Penrith, with responsibilities including invoicing, payment processing, billing disputes and financial close support.
I completed an MBA in Human Resource Management at Charles Darwin University in Australia. Together with my earlier studies in finance and accounting, this qualification brought a people management focus to my academic background.
I worked as a Manager at Lucky Engineering Ltd. in Dhaka. This role formed the next stage of my professional journey before I joined Abed Holdings later that year.
As Senior HR Manager and Head of HR at Abed Holdings Ltd., I lead human capital strategies for a business in the real estate development sector. My work covers talent acquisition, employee engagement, payroll and compliance, alongside collaboration on workforce planning and leadership development.
I remain eager to take on professional and personal challenges. Alongside my career, this journal gives me space for photographs, travel memories and reflections on everyday life—the moments that make a story larger than its qualifications and job titles.
